Applying there RD…I’m not sure University of Southern California is my absolute top choice, but it’s one of the better schools on my list and I like LA.
Currently I have a 3.823 cumulative GPA (unweighted), junior year I had a 4.0. My school doesn’t weight GPA or rank students so I can’t give that info. My best SAT is a 2080, 750 CR 600 M 730 W. I have two subject test scores: 730 chemistry and 680 math 2. As far as actual classes go, I’ve taken 8 AP classes to date, and everything else, the exception being health graduation requirements and photography, have been honors classes.
I don’t have a laundry list of ECs but I have a couple that I think are pretty strong. I dance about 20 hours a week (mostly ballet, plus jazz, modern, etc) and compete with a locally known dance team. I’m involved with theater at school and have stage managed three productions. I’ve been the team captain of my Relay For Life team for four years in a row. I’m also a member of National Honors society, and have 40 community service hours, about 10 of which are solely peer tutoring. Additionally I waitress part time on weekends and am the editor of the school newspaper.
How do I look in comparison to the students who get accepted? Obviously I hope I’m in good standing but does anyone else think so? lol. I guess for any other helpful info, I’m a first generation student from a single parent home with an income of <$20,000/year, and I live on the complete opposite end of the country (East coast advantage?). Thanks in advance!
