Just wanted to ask what my chances were for USC.

730 Reading

GPA
3.95 weighted
not sure about unweighted
Rank 110/1249

ECs

Try to calculate your unweighted GPA- weighted doesn't mean much here because everyone calculates it differently. It's better to quote your unweighted GPA along with the #of honors/AP/IB classes you took.

SAT looks good. Did you already apply? - if not, for your EC's- be sure to highlight your leadership, not just participation.

our school doesn't release unweighted GPAs. We're one of the top schools in the nation so USC should already have a school profile. Take into account the class rank instead of the GPA. Also the one problem with my EC's is that I don't have much leadership.

If you have your specific grades you can calculate the unweighted GPA

For each semester:

A = 4
B = 3
C = 2
D = 1

Add all of you academic class grades together and divide by the number of classes. Do that for each semester's grades and then average them all.
Don't give any extra points for AP/Honors/IB classes.

yeah its pretty difficult. I'm also getting better this year, from what i've predicted I think I can hopefully make it to around top 8%. I think the reason im in top 10% is cuz our school doesn't care at all about unweighted GPA, class rank is based solely on weighted. So someone could have a 4.0 unweighted and not be in top 10% (if they took all regular courses).
