Chances for UT Austin, GT, UMichigan, UCIC, MIT, CMU, UPenn CS major

Hello,
I am applying UT Austin, UMichigan, UCIC, MIT and GT specifically for CS major. I just got deferred from UCIC and MIT. I hear that deferred means very low chance of getting in again so I am trying to see my chances at other places. Can you advice/give some tips?

(I am out of state for all these schools)

My profile:
Asian Male
SAT 1520 (790M+730E) and Subject SAT 800 Math 760 Chemistry
GPA 4.63 weighted on scale of 4. (School does not publish ranking)
Courses: AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Computer Science, AP Env Science
Advance courses: Multivariate Calculus (Vector functions, Multiple Integrals) Differential Equations, Graph Theory
Computer courses: C programming, Java programming, Web Development,
Science Fair: ISEF Finalist, Top award for Technology project for State Science Fair (Projects involved Arduino Uno with sensors stepper motor, mobile SWIFT programming)
FIRST and VEX Robotics team member
Went to MIT Beaverworks summer program for UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) design for a month. Got 2nd place in project.
EC: Varsity Tennis
EC: Scuba diving PADI certified,
About 100+ hours of volunteering work

I am aware that to get in CS major for these schools is hard. I was hoping to get UCIC so got disappointed. I know CS major is hard to get in. But none the less, I was hoping for better outcome. I am getting tensed as I really want to go to good CS school. For UT I have applied for CS and Electrical as second option.

My application is process over (Except for CMU and Cornell) but is there a way I can write to them, download more documentation, details about science fair project or anything else?
Also are there any equally good school that I can still apply and have a chance?

Appreciate feedback and chances.

Sorry I meant UIUC, not UCIC

Did you put a second major for UIUC? Even when they defer, there is a good chance you could get your second major there if it is a less selective major. However, the fact that you are out of state for UIUC does hurt.

You have strong STEM/CS related EC’s and math classes so those will definitely help you.

All of your schools are highly competitive. UIUC in theory accept like 50% of those deferred. Michigan only uses unweighted but I assume it’s 4.0 unweighted. These are “all” reach schools for an out of state student. What is your local public school? Do you have any safeties? If not start applying… You could be realistically shut out of all the schools you applied to.

UIUC doesn’t accept additional information. Plainly… They don’t care what else you did. You already stated it on your application. For the other schools you can send information to your regional schools admission person, once you have a decision. Like I told my son 2 years ago, you are a dime a dozen so I hope your essay is awesome to really separate yourself.

Also you are only looking at the top ten schools. Start looking at 11-20 and so on… There are many great schools that are not top ten.

With ISEF Finalist, I wouldve thought that you would get in.

Thank you. Somehow I could not put second choice for UIUC in engineering. May be something I did not do right. I did not want non engineering second choice…

UIUC CS deferred gang!! Yeah I’m in the same boat as you, but you have arguably better EC’s than me with that science fair project. I say you have a 50/50 chance when RD comes along. Im hoping for it too, but I predict that I’ll probably get accepted for my second choice major, math.
