Chances for UVA EA INSTATE (Upward Trend)

Hi, I’m an instate student for UVA, and I’d like to see what my chances are with my upward trend from a very weak freshman year. UVA always emphasizes how they look at grades and courses and not GPA so I’m going to do just that and list all my courses and grades below.

However, unfortunately due to my freshman year my overall weighted GPA is lower than all past accepted students from my high school according to the Naviance graph. (My total weighted is around 4.05, school average around 4.29) Yet, that may be because the grades listed on Naviance include final senior grades too, but I’m not entirely sure. My senior grades so far are very good as well but I can’t guarantee they will make it in time for EA, so therefore I want to be chanced with just the grades listed.

My school does not rank and has nearly all honors and AP courses available

^That was just my suggestion because none of us can chance people with the limited information we get in these things. Plus, these thread tend to crowd out the more conversational threads.

Anyway, we make decisions using the entire transcript (include senior program), recommendations, essays, activities, and testing. When someone is rebounding, [I</a> always recommend Regular Decision so those senior grades can be a factor](Notes from Peabody: The UVA Application Process: Early Action vs Regular Decision at UVA). Since it seems you already applied, it’s time to sit tight and wait for the review to take place.

Yes, I sent my first quarter senior grades recently to make up for it. Hopefully they will be reviewed in time.

Since the UVA thread is becoming more active and I just want some opinions. I know chance threads are not very effective as Dean J said-just curious.
