Chances for Vanderbilt 2017 ED

Ok so i had a thread chancing me for emory/vandy/usc but now I have just received wonderful news and I am applying ED to Vanderbilt, which is my absolute dream school! Here are my stats, please please please tell me what you think!!!

ACT: 32 (35 english, 33 reading, 32 science, 30 math)

GPA: 3.799 UW (school does not weight grades, but I have a large upward trend from freshman year from mostly Bs to all As)

APs: U.S Gov (4), World History (4), English Language (5), Chemistry (2) (not submitting, was super sick that day and could not focus)

Senior Year Schedule: AP Lit, AP Psych, Advanced Physics, AP Calc AB, APUSH, Marketing, Band (have taken the most rigorous courses possible throughout HS)

Awards: AP Scholar

ECs: Varsity Cheerleading for 4 yrs (captain now, super time consuming, won lots of awards), Band/Selective Percussion program for 8 yrs (best in MO), Girl Scouts for 13 yrs (now an ambassador, working on my gold award), Mu Alpha Theta for 2 yrs, Camp Counselor at the Jewish camp i've been going to for 10 yrs, volunteer stuff through my temple for the past 4 yrs

Essays: Should be amazing, EC one is about Girl Scouts

Recs: from my gov teacher and my math teacher, should be pretty good

I will have visited campus twice by the end of November, and I am interviewing with a couple who I babysit for regularly

No legacies ): and will be applying for FA

Competitive Public High school in MO, white female

PLEEEASE CHANCE!

Oh, and I have been hostessing at a restaurant for the past 3 months for about 11 hrs/week. And I will be applying to the College of Arts and Sciences!

I think you have a great shot. As long as you have an upward trend I think you’re okay with GPA. Good course load, nice ECs.

I’m applying to Vandy too, how did you arrange an interview already? was it through Corps?

I haven’t arranged the interview yet, but this couple has offered to interview me/write letters of rec if at all possible! And hopefully we both get in, thanks so much for the feedback!

Anyone else???

bump anyone?

bump please!!

yes, it’s extremely realistic. vanderbilt seems to be a perfect match, please make sure to write an excellent personal statement.
3.799 sounds more like a 3.8 haha! you sound like a shoe in for vanderbilt!
chance back please.

thank you so much!!! i want to go there so unbelievably badly. that means a lot.

you sound like you’re on a great path. (: Although I am trying to figure out how you received a 3.8 with an AP schedule like that… did you recieve numerous B’s?

I have an A- average. I got my B’s my freshman year, and that GPA represents my grades through all of high school. my junior year grades first and second semester were all A’s with a B+ in math.

bump please??? be honest :)

You definitely have a chance, my friend got into Vandy ED with similar scores last year. Just stress why you want to go there in your essay.

you should be fine for vandy, maybe even consider some of the lower-tier ivies

thanks so much!!! and i really don’t think i could ever get into an ivy league school unless i did early decision. but i just love vandy too much!

anyone else???

pleeease help!

I live near Vandy, and many of my friends in previous years have gotten in. You have a great chance of getting in, especially since you’re demonstrating commitment by applying ED. Just make sure that you present yourself in an individualistic, unique way in your essays so that they have no choice but to accept you :)

if only that were so simple, right? (; but thank you for your input! i hope my essays are that good!

any other input???

Also my college counselor doesnt think i have that great of a shot of getting in. he says im in the ballpark but im not quite there…thats why im seeking so many responses. thank you for your input, again!

bump 10char
