I'm a 13 year old boy applying for Webb Academy. My grades have been mostly striaght A's and I got about 2150 on the SSAT. I am a boy scout with several leadership positions and merit badges. I'm in a basketball league, swim, choir, play the guitar, do community service, and take art.
Give me a chance from 1-100?
Thank you =D

Did you mean the Webb School in Tn? or in CA?
There are two Webb schools.

What is your percentile in the SSAT scores?

Webb ‘Academy’ is a cosmetology beauty school in Arlington, VA.

sorry i meant the webb schools in california. I was in a rush…

Your achievements & EC’s make u an attractive candidate, but there are other big variables in play, some u can control and some u can’t:

Do u present well in an interview?

Are u seeking FA?

Do you fill some particular need Webb has that year (i.e., needs a tuba player who plays water polo)?

Are u applying for day or boarding?

Are u domestic or int’l?

Do u contribute to the diversity of the student body (i.e. geographic/ racial)?

I’m taking a class to prepare me for my interview so I guess I will do well in it.
Um… I do not know what a FA is, can you explain it to me.
I’m not sure if Webb needs me for anything… Maybe the basketball team, choir, swim, guitar, maybe piano( havent played in a few years), water polo( I’ve played it a few times, but I can learn)
I’m applying for Day and im domestic
Thank you!

Webb Schools in Claremont, CA is a true hidden gem and I wish you all the best.

It may not be as difficult to get in as other top schools in the nation. But when you look at its college-related data, you will find the school has been doing an excellent job. If you are applying as a day student, I don’t honestly know if your chance is higher than the boarding students. I simply don’t know. But compared to other great boarding schools, Webb seems to have a higher percentage of day students.

Your boy scout (leadership) experience, depending on how seriously and intensively you have been engaged, may put you in a good position. I don’t know about the other ECs because they are not concretely explained enough. My advice is when you apply, focus on a couple of ECs that you have really enjoyed with several years of experience - what you can discuss in details with passion. It seems to me that your leadership potential may look appealing. Best wishes!

p.s. FA means financial aid from the school that you are applying.

I do not need financial-aid.

It helps to not need FA.

Additionally, your chance of admission is probably quite a bit better than the published admit rate would suggest, as the admit rate number gets skewed by the staggering number of int’l appilcations from China chasing only a handful of spots allocated to any one nationality.

FYI

Boy Scouts-8 years
Guitar- 6 years
Art-2 years
Choir- 1 year
Swimming- 5 years

so… what are my chances for getting in
thank you!

i also have taken Chinese for 7 years and participated in karate for 41/2 years

@idk,
You are missing the message. You’ve already been told u have a good achievement record, but no one here can tell u at this point whether you will get admitted or not. Even a Webb AO couldn’t tell u at this point because they haven’t seen ALL the parts of your application (i.e. test scores, short answer statement, parent statement, recs)-- you’re not being admitted only on the basis of your GPA and extracurrics.

And the AO’s have not read all the competing applications. There are more competitive years and less competitive years. Your application will be read relative to the competition.

If you do not have an adequate fallback option if you are not admitted to Webb, then you need to be applying to multiple schools.

ok…sorry for my lack of knowledge
sheesh
