Once again, thanks for taking the time to look over this!

-bump-

Anyone?

No chance.

Actually just joking.

I think you have good chances at all those schools. I had similar ballpark type statistics (3.8/4.0 GPA, 2240 SATs) and was told by my guidance counselor that Wesleyan(the school I go to now) was a match/safety, and Cornell and Brown were match/slight reaches (I ended up applying ED to Wes). So that bodes well for you, I’d imagine that Harvard and Princeton are the only two schools that might be a bit unrealistic, and I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t get into Williams, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you did get in either.

One thing I would do is try to emphasize your ECs in your essays. Maybe talk about your dedication to the literary magazine, or something like that.

Another thing… the schools on your list don’t seem to have that much in common, besides prestige, you have small school LACs to big universities like Harvard and Princeton. Just make sure you’re choosing your schools based on how well you think you will like it there, or it will come back and bite you in the butt(like me, who is now applying to transfer)!

Haha, I picked the schools I’m applying to for several different reasons, but they are pretty valid. I am aware their atmospheres are quite different!

I’m not too worried about my essays- they were unconventional, but I think (hope) in a good way. Thanks for replying!

Most likely reject from H and P

Princeton and Harvard don’t look too realistic, and Williams and Cornell are pretty big reaches as well. Are you a senior now? I assume so, and your AP load has been relatively light. Those other schools are a little more realistic, which is by no means a bad thing.

Well, I can’t get put down for the APs- I took every AP available at my school except for Stats, Phys, and Chem, and I couldn’t take those because they were just made available this year- I’m pretty sure my counselor mentioned that in his rec. I hope my counselor mentioned that!

You think I have a chance at Georgetown? I feel like it would be as high a reach as Harvard or Princeton.

how did you have a 4.5 cumulative by only taking 5 aps

I’m a little confused as to what exactly you mean- I took two last year, so my total APs taken would add up to seven. I also got A’s in my other honors courses, and honors and AP are both weighted the same at my school.

I’ve gotten a total of three Bs in high school- both semesters in Precalculus Honors last year, and in Calc first semester this year. I used to have a 4.67, but the B’s have dragged me down to a 4.5. Why is it so surprising that my GPA is a 4.5?

oh they weight your honors gpa for your school gpa? too bad they dont do that at my school
