Chances getting into any big school nursing

Hey! I wanted to know if there were any schools that were on the bigger side, with direct admission nursing programs that I could get into with my stats. Just as a reference i’m a junior in high school right now!

gpa: 3.73w & 3.32uw (take mostly honors, took one ap, currently enrolled at my tech high school to be a nursing assistant, and plan on taking dual enrollment at CC my senior year).
act: 22
extracurriculars: varsity cheer sophomore year - present. co captain sophomore year. Captain junior year. Varsity tennis freshman year, varsity track & field sophomore year (corona canceled my junior season). Began GSA my junior year. Have a part time job.
extras about me: only my mom has a degree, but did all her school online. I’m hispanic. I’m from northern Maryland.

also not sure if it makes a difference but i’m on varsity comp cheer and varsity sideline cheer. And I always cheer the fall season and winter season.

oh and you probably couldn’t tell but i’m make as well?? i’m not really sure if nursing schools like males or not but hey whatever

I think nursing schools welcome male students. That should be no problem.

One program that even for out of state students is fairly inexpensive and has a reputable nursing program, is Lehman College. I think tuition is $14K per year and housing is $10K per year–meaning $25K plus a few other expenses, before FA. It’s worth placing on your list as a possibility. You also need to consider cost of food.

@Dustyfeathers I don’t think Lehman is direct admit.

University of Maine. An ACT of 23 is preferred. Are you planning to retake the ACT when it is again available?

Um yes, but I was also checking to see and it looks like a lot of schools dont super score so I may just go for the SAT instead

Jesuit colleges? Creighton? Xavier? Marquette? Gonzaga?
Carthage? MSOE?

Hi there. If you can try and push your ACT score up. It will really helps with merit aid as well as admission.
Indiana University of Pennsylvania is pretty and affordable . You need to apply early - by oct I think.
Also look at Miami university in Oxford ,Ohio.

It’s great you are looking early. It’s definitely worth reaching out to admissions officers and sharing your stats and bio as you did here. A good place to start is the direct admit list on this site .

Nursing admissions always more competitive than the college as a whole. They will give you good feedback.

Best of luck!

Thanks @kidzncatz I was concerned more about offering this low-cost option than I was focused on the direct admit part of the equation.

OP–you can check out the relative cost of a school at College Navigator. Find the school by name and then click on “net price” for a general figure. For more precise figure, run the college’s net price. There are net price indicators on each college’s web site.

The website “College Transitions” lists direct admit nursing programs. This website won’t allow me to insert the link.
