Chances? HELP IM DYING OVER HERE!

Hello, I’m a new poster

I just wanted to see if I had a chance in hell of getting into Brown ED.
After looking at these forums I’m having second thoughts, everyone’s sats are so high (i thought that was my hook!)

I have a 2400 on the sat, and 800 satII math 2, and physics, but only a 780 in French and Hebrew. I also got a 730 on the Latin (yea I know it kind of sucks) , a 750 on the korean, and an 800 on both the Bio satIIs. My GPA is 4.0 Unweighted.

I am really oriented towards languages and science.
I worked in Paris as a translator, only for french/english, last summer as a part time job while I was visiting for 1 month.
My Ec’s are pretty good,

I spent the last two summers in Liberia and the Sudan with the world health organization fixing cleft pallets and distributing aids medications. The summer of 8th grade I spent in Venezuela researching Huntington’s disease and creating a model for Huntington’s in the infantile form.

During the year, I am editor in chief of the school’s 3 main newspapers, one of which is nationally recognized and has won numerous awards.

On the weekends during the last two years, I interned at Meryl Lynch as a GFY.

I am an amateur actor, and have been in a few school productions. My big break came when I was doing work in Liberia when I had a very small part in Lord of War.

As far as sports go, I am captain of the football team at my school. I also play on the basketball team.

I am president of the Mathletics club, the DebatOrator club, and the GYE.

I am very, very good at bass. I have been playing for almost 11 years (acoustic and electric). I am in a band that came out with its first single last year. Justin Timberlake has expressed interest in us opening for him later this year.

As far as legacy goes, a few of my relatives (not direct though) have gone to Brown. A distance relative of mine is actually Marie Curie, and she has been somewhat of an inspiration to me throughout the years. My grandfather on the other side was, actually, a very respected journalist (the adcoms will probably recognize).

I have already been recruited to Julliard, but I really, really want to go to Brown!! My decision comes tomorrow and I’m so nervous, I know my stats aren’t the absolute apex, but do you think I should be worrying or not!??
I am an avid hunter, and last week I actually shot my first antelope. (Keep that on the DL!). The chase was exhilarating. I was in South Africa visiting my uncle, the vice chancellor. I have won a few skeet shooting competitions, and have taken down my fare share of the dangerous and elusive black bear threatening the NJ community as we speak.

I have recently been working with my fellow students and teachers trying to help with Fiji’s current political situation. We have raised 900,000 dollars to support the coup and get the new government off its feet.

;) --------------jk-------------

u have no chance of getting in. poor sat scores, poor ec's, no variety, no passion, and legacy has to run at least to 6 generations.

;)

this seems like an example of a poster who is just doing a chances thread to brag about his/her accomplishments. Come on. You know you have a freaking chance. Be realistic with yourself. BTW, how are you getting your decision tomorrow?

oh, sorry, I failed to notice the jk at the bottom! tee hee! I am so very gullible.

Yeah...sorry, man. I don't like to be harsh, but with those numbers, you'd need a miracle. I mean, your uncle is only VICE Chancellor. That must be kind of embarrassing.

bring up that french and latin score and you should be ok...btw, if you didn't apply ED i'm afraid Brown is a reach

Yeah, sorry, but this appears to be a reach. If your uncle gets promoted and your band does indeed open for Justin Timberlake, that will help your chances. But you'll still need fantastic essays to compensate for that Latin score. The language isn't dead in the eyes of Brown University.

Try applying to Rutgers, that's more in your range. Make sure you highlight your bear-hunting prowess; they may be grateful for your service to the state.

I say you create this proposal for the US to annex canada and if it gets promoted your in

i say those scores will get you nothing better than a community college. for gods sake stop bragging!

also this would be the first time in my life that I hear that a football captain or Qb whatever is on the math team and has a 4.0 gpa lol

hahaha halfway through the reading I gave up and.. I thought you were out of your mind.

:) enjoyed it. you must have lots of time. hahah

My frustration was building up till I saw that "-------jk-------"

I don't understand you. It must be nice to have all the privileges you have. I think the Admissions Office sees people like you, and they get to thinking that you all are the same. Anyone with your amount of money can do what you have done. I think they appreciate those students who do what they can with what they have. That's why I am proud to say I have done just that. I think you need to have more confidence, and stop asking for pity when you got a perfect SAT score. That is ridiculous of you, you need to get over yourself.

I was just about to write this extremely long reply about how messed up you are, but then when i saw the JK thing I was like oh...
But you know the sad thing is, you'll actually find ppl on this website writing relatively similar stats to what you wrote, and they'll be completely serious.

OMG...at first I was like...!!! =-o
