Chances? Help, please

I applied around the end of November.

Indian Female from New Jersey.
I'm beginning to get REALLY stressed out colleges.. so i'm asking the famous question......what do you all think my chances are?

Weighted GPA- 4.052 (don't know what it is unweighted)
NO RANKING.

SATs are kinda crappy
SAT I: V 660 M 700 Wr 660
SAT II: Bio 620, Math IC 730, US Hist 660

Took all honors/APs in EXTREMELY competitive high school that's ranked 4th in Bergen county. AP Exam scores are bad- got two 3's in US Hist and Govt

ECs:
*Wrote for school newspaper one year
*Debate team, French Club, and Track&Field for 3 years
*Hand-in-Hand Club (for handicapped children) for 2 years
*Science League for 2 years
*EMT club for one year
*Volunteered at hospital - 117 hours of service.
*National Honor Society
*French Honor Society

Summer Activities:
-Took a Constitutional Law Course at summer program in Columbia Univ.
(the professor's writing me a recommendation)
-Congressional Youth Leadership Conference in Washington D.C.
(yea yea I know it's not that prestigious, but whatever)

BAD POINTS: i totally screwed up my junior year and got 2 Cs in physics honors and precalc honors (but my precal teacher's writing my recommendation) the classes were literally impossible!!!!

Recommendations= great- one's by my AP US hist teacher, and precalc honors teacher.. (dunno bout my counselor's though)- another is from my Con Law professor from summer @ Columbia, as I said before.

Essays= good. But, I hear UMich doesn't pay much attention to them

I've also traveled to Europe a coupla times and India nuuumerous times, and Mexico once.. lol my travels have given me some good perspective.. but who knows if that will help me in this college process..

Anyways, let me know what you think, please?

Hang in there, relax lagaan! You seem to have good stats for Michigan as long as your UMich GPA is solid.
You should be hearing from Mich soon.

My travels did not help me out at all as I was deferred, and I have been everywhere many times.

thanks hopeful1,

you may remember me from the emory forums.. unfortunately, i had no luck with that school :(

Yes, sorry about ED II at Emory. The past week was stressful. I believe Emory was looking for students expressing strong interest in the school even though we were ED candidates. I played that angle well and spent a great deal of time drafting my essay. ED II was very competitive this year.

Michigan was next on my list if I was not accepted ED II. It is a great school. You seem to have solid stats. As long as your Mich GPA is up there you should have a good chance of being accepted, assuming you applied early enough and are patient. Your SATs are slightly higher than mine. My unweighted Michigan GPA was about a 3.85. My application was posted on WA as completed in early December and I was accepted 1 month later.

Good luck, I am sure you will be attending a great school next year.

Thanks for the nice words.. however, my UMICH gpa is REALLY low all because of junior year.... i hope they take into consideration that I took all honors/APs :(

Ouch...your Junior year could really hurt you. 2 Cs in core classes pretty much means your Junior year GPA had to be in the 3.0 range, assuming you got As is in the remaining core academic classes you took your junior year. Are you doing well this year? Did your school send the mid-year report? And you applied on the late side. Generally speaking, you are better off applying earlier in the cycle. Your SATs are good though, so that will help, as will your tough courseload. I'd say your chances are so-so. Michigan is a match-slight reach for you.

I got deferred- probably because of my grades. All As this year in everything EXCEPT biology. I'm practically C-ing it. I don't want to send in my mid-year. :( Don't think I'm going to.. isn't it optional?... hmm.
