Hi there, I am currently in 10th grade and am trying to get into 11th grade of Phillips Academy Andover. I would like to know where my chances stand.
My overall SSAT score is in the 91st percentile (Reading-84, Verbal-83, Quantitative- 91)
I’ve taken piano, chess, tennis, karate, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and French lessons. I’ve also done MUN and student government.
(I study at an MYP school so the grades are out of 7) My average grade is at about 6.6 out of 7.
I went to the Summer Session at Andover and took Writing for Success and Speech and debate classes. For both courses i got 6/6 and both teachers wrote stellar letters in the transcript saying how I tried a lot, helped others, and was a joy to have in class. My dorm counselor also said nice things about me.
I had an interview on campus and it went fine. I can’t say if i did good or not, but it wasn’t bad for sure.
I’m sure my recommendations from school are going to be amazing.
So what do you think?
Your SSAT’s aren’t too bad but, the average admitted score is 94 percentile. Your EC’s are pretty good though. Have you gotten any awards in any of them? That will definitely increase your chances. Also, the fact that you got letters from Andover teachers will definitely be a bonus. I think you are in the running and have a good chance! Chance me?
