I think I’d try taking it again. The average SAT was higher than that this year.

Your GTech GPA is pretty good, higher than what the average for the accepted students was this year (4.0). Like MichiganGeorgia said, the average SAT was 2151 this year for accepted students, so yeah, you should definitely retake, or try the ACT.

Thanks that’s what I needed to know

They also “superscore”, so they will pull all your standardized test scores (SAT and ACT) in however many sittings you took them, convert to some metric, then use the best possible score combinations to consider for admission. With that said, retake the SAT since you have taken it already and are more familiar with the format, then if you are not completely satisfied, try the ACT. I read from somewhere that taking the SAT beyond 3 times on average show little or no improvement from the best score.

Yeah, I just found the tweet about whether they give preference to instate/outofstate.
The freshman class is typically 55%-60% instate. The ratio usually stays the same throughout the years.

Are you applying to Georgia Tech next year?

Georgia Tech is not recalculating GPAs anymore. but everything else doesnt look too bad

I will be applying this year

Score is not bad but it would definitely help if you raised it.
