Chances (Ivies, Stan, JHU, NU, Duke,ETC)

Full-IB Diploma Candidate
Private School

GPA: 3.5 unweighted (low GPA due to horrible frosh year, straight A's junior year) School does NOT RANK

SAT: 2270 (700M, 770CR, 800W)
SATII: MathII770, USH740, Lit660
AP's: Bio5, Cal5, Euro5, USH4, Chem 4
Good EC's - President of 2 clubs, captain of academic decathlon, captain of varsity tennis team, good community service, etc.

Good essays, recs.

reach for all. everyone that applies to ivy league schools has those stats, and the gpa will hurt you big time

^^^ Actually not everyone, some have a higher gpa...

It's going to depend more on your essays and how you portray yourself here. Your GPA is somewhat weak -- do you attend a very rigorous high school? The SAT is obviously great, and the ECs are good. Do you have any honors/awards? As it stands, I'd say slight reach to reach.

I think you're in at Northwestern and maybe Duke.

The others don't look too great.

i'm not an expert but you need things to make you stand out. admissions officers are trying to build a community for students. i'm not saying you're not unique..everyone is..you just have to show them how you are..and hopefully you did.

did that help at all whatsoever

Even though the GPA will hurt you, you should definitely be proud of your accomplishments, and I am sure you will thrive at a peer institution of the ivies. I think you have limited prospects at the ivies themselves though.

Unless you're being really modest, those are not very good ECs at Ivy League schools. Go look at some other chances threads to get an idea.
