Chances: Lots of W's because of working in hollywood

So i have two dropped terms from an OOS four year university because I was working as on on-set interpreter in Arabic for major hollywood films shot on location in Morocco. Recently I worked as a personal PA to leonardo Dicaprio on set in Tangier. I learned arabic as an adult. It is not a heritage language.

I came down to Berkeley and enrolled at the CCC in order to make sure I had residency and the correct Pre-req's and GE's and have been using assist.org and meeting with the reps from cal. That is all in order. My GPA is 3.67.

I detailed my working history in the app and explained my W's in the extras section while writting my essays about learning arabic and being very interested in Plato's effect on Arabic and Western literary philosophy. My major is Comp lit.

Do you think that my backround in film will hurt me or help me? Do think those W's will be my downfall??? Or do you think that my unnusual work history will be a point of interest?

I feel like my app is weak because of those W's and that 3.67 GPA (DAMN HEBREW CLASS!!!)

Niftyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

You’ve done the right thing as far as your Ws go. As long as you have a GOOD explanation for them (and the comments section is the perfect place to explain such things), the Ws will NOT hurt you at all. I recently confirmed this with a UCLA rep involved in admissions decisions. Besides, you only need an explanation if you have an EXCESSIVE number of Ws. I can’t speak to your other concerns, as I am an Engineering major and not familiar with those areas of study, although I can’t imagine how anything positive that you’ve done hurting in any way.

Are you applying to any privates? Privates tend to be more holistic in transfer admissions than I think UCs are(for transfer admissions). I think some privates would find your experience a plus.
I don’t think you should worry much about Berkeley, as long as you have your lower division requirements completed, with a gpa of 3.5 or higher you’d get in. Comp Lit isn’t an impacted major(right?)
