So I am a student living in Wisconsin who plans on applying to UT Austin very soon. UT Austin is a rather selective public school and it is especially selective for out of state students such as myself due to certain Texas laws.

I am concerned with my chance of getting accepted, mainly because all the research I have done does not really help me. I was wondering if any of you could give me a good idea of my chances.

My GPA (weighted) is 4.01, un-weighted it is about 3.97 (I only have on AP class done so far, so not really a difference there)

My highest ACT composite score is 31, with a 10 in the Writing

Unfortunately, my school does not rank students. If I had to estimate, I would say I am in the top 10% of my class.

As far as extra-curricular activities:

I have been a member of the high school band for all 4 years. I play the clarinet

I have been a member of the Business Club since junior year

I and two other friends founded the Investment Club in our school junior year, we have about 30 members this year

On top of this, I plan on having two letters of recommendations from teachers. One is already written, I am waiting on the other.

As far as the essays for the application go, I guess I could say they are pretty good. I am a good writer so I am not concerned about that.

With all this said, can anybody give me somewhat of any idea on my chances?

Thanks in advance!
