Chances of admission getting rescinded?

Hello,

I recently got into NYU with a 3.5 gpa (mainly a’s and b’s), and a 2300 SAT.

I might end the second semester of high school with one c, and the rest of my classes as a’s and b’s - and I was just wondering if that one ‘c’ would majorly detriment me, and cause my admission offer to get rescinded? I also got in with a CAS Scholarship - would the scholarship offer be taken back due to a bad grade as well? I’ve been searching past threads and articles for more information, but numerous sources say different things, so I’m not sure. I can’t find many recent sources either, so if anyone knows anything and can help out, it’d be greatly appreciated!

If your entire senior year ends around 3.4+ you should be fine, especially if your course load is higher than your previous years.

My course load is actually lighter this year - I’m taking 2 APs right now, compared to 3 APs and 1 Honors last year. The class I’m worried about is Calculus AB AP, and my grade is currently at a D… If I work hard, I can definitely bring it up to a passing C, but I don’t think I’ll be able to get even a B anymore for my final transcript. I emailed NYU to let them know about my circumstances, and ask about whether this really would get me rescinded, but they haven’t replied yet (and it’s been nearly 3 days since I messaged them). I’ve seen stories from 2011-2013 where students said they got C’s and D’s in classes and didn’t have any problems, but I can’t find anything more recent, which greatly worries me.

I got a C in AP Calc and my admission wasn’t rescinded. As long as you don’t mess up tremendously and pass all of your classes, NYU won’t pull you. One C isn’t going to mess with your future.
