Chances of Admission under these circumstances?

I was confident I could get into UMD, but due to financial issues and heat from my father, I did not apply as soon as I could. He instead wanted me to set my eyes on Montgomery College. My sisters who currently attend there discouraged me from choosing MC over UMD, so I started the application to get into UMD. I’m 2 days past the priority deadline now, and I don’t know how soon my teachers and counselor will submit their rec letters.
-I came here from Africa last year and currently have a GPA of 3.2
-Took SAT twice:
==June 2015–> | Math: 500 | Reading: 530 |
==Oct 2015 --> | Math: 600 | Reading: 590 |

I don’t know how well those scores compare to other applicants, but I’ve read from several sites that applying after this deadline greatly reduces your chances of getting in. I’m really confused here.
Is this a strategy to get many more applications, or it’s really true?
Does all this hurt my chances of getting into UMD?

Hate to say it but you have a very slight chance. Your GPA is far below and your SAT is below their entire Middle 50/ Do some more research, there are plenty of other Maryland Colleges that you are a match for. And uh, after a bit of research I can’t find anything on MC besides it possibly being a community college? Why does your dad want you to go there? Is it one of those schools that international kids flock to and then transfer out? I mean no offense, as my mother and her family does the same thing.

No offense taken. Yeah. MC stands for Montgomery College. He wanted me to go there so as to keep education costs low, then transfer to UMD after 2 years. My sisters say it actually is 3 years, and that they are deceptive, and their counselors got them to take courses they didn’t need. How accurate this all is, I don’t know.
