Hi, I am a female from NJ.
I am an upcoming junior and I have taken all honors classes (highest classes offered for freshman and sophomores), so my weighted average is about a 96 (which will definitely go up next year) and unweighted is about a 92.
Also, unfortunately, I am in the 2nd decile instead of 1st, but I should be able to get into the 1st by the end of junior year.
Junior year schedule: AP US History II, AP English, AP Psychology, Honors Constitutional Law, Honors Spanish, PreCalc, Physics
ECs: volleyball (freshman and JV), Current Events Club, 3D Design Club, Science Club, trying to start a charity club next year, joining a colonial re-enactment group over the summer
Volunteer: American Cancer Society, town museum, public library, center for food action, tutoring
However, because I have not taken the SATs, I know it is hard to evaluate me, but assuming that I will to well on them, please chance me and be honest.
Also, would I likely receive any scholarships?

History, just reading through your other posts, it appears as though you want to be a Colonial American History Teacher.

I think that’s absolutely fantastic, and it appears as though W&M is at the top of your list (my wife is from Williamsburg). If that’s what you REALLY are passionate about, I couldn’t really recommend UR for you. I think you’d get a fantastic education there and would have all of the opportunities in the world, but looking at the ROI (assuming you want to be a high school teacher), it just doesn’t make a lot of sense.

It really is impossible to give much in the way of “chancing” (which I hate to do in general, as no one on this forum works in admissions) based on the information you provided. Just remember, schools aren’t typically looking for people in 1,000 organizations, but rather, people that make meaningful contributions to the things that they are a part of. If you have to stop something else that you’re on the fringe of to start your charity group, then go for it. Lastly, the scholarships at UR are very competitive. If that’s not in the cards, UR is known for competitive financial aid packages.

Best of luck to you in the process.

your grades and ECs look pretty strong; I’d say you’ve got a solid chance at getting in. Just make sure you do well on your SATs and keep your grades up.

as for scholarships, unfortunately, i don’t think i’m familiar enough to give a reasonably accurate chance, but good luck with your search!
