Hey,

Just finishing off my Texas A&M application and was wondering what my chances were of getting in. I would like to major in Computer Science and Russian.
Here are a few of my stats:

3.4(unweighted GPA)
1200 (New SAT)
25 ACT
Mostly Honors and 4 AP classes
Lettered my Freshman, Sophmore, and Senior year
Co-Captain of swim team (2017-2018)
Crew(Rowing) my junior and senior year
Placed in top 8 for swimming freshman and sophomore year
RYLA
Federal Service Language Academy
Petty Officer in the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps
Interact
Student Technology Association club
Took a college class

Oh, and as for my class rank, I’m 32 out of 226.

Your GPA is a bit low for A&M. It might get you in the university, but not necessarily into the major you want. CS can be cutthroat there. The good news is that in computers, it really doesn’t make a big difference where you go to school. CS degrees are highly employable. Just find a good school that you like and you’ll be fine.
