Chances of AES Distinction?

Do I have a good chance of getting AES Distinction or at least Achievement?

Class rank: 46/698 - 6.59%

GPA: 5.3531/5 (weighted), 3.9583/4 (unweighted)

AP classes: English Lang (4), US History (4), Spanish Lang (3), Physics 1 (3). I am taking English Literature, Government, Macroeconomics, Biology, Calculus AB this year.

SAT: 1st time- 1430/1600 composite, 720 Reading & Writing / 710 Math
2nd time- 1390, 650 R&W / 740 Math
Superscore- 1460

PSAT: 1330/1520, 680 Reading & Writing / 650 Math / SI 201

Extracurriculars: Orchestra librarian (2 years), Orchestra (4 years), Student Council (3 years), National Spanish Honor Society (3 years), Mu Alpha Theta (2 years) which is well over 150 volunteer hours.

Achievements: violin awards, an award every year for having at least a 4.0 out of 5.0 GPA, AP Scholar with Honor

Work Experience: Volunteering at a hospital in the summer, about 50 hours. Fast food job, 10 hours a week.

It says the average SAT for Distinction is 1470 with your superscored SAT, grades and rank I think you have a good shot. From what I’ve heard, they really don’t consider EC’s much for AES.

@GTAustin (or anyone else Familiar with UTD) do you have any idea how many AES scholarship in each level are given out each year?

I was looking at the AES page and their stats were 26% of incoming freshman had AES scholarships, 43% were at Achievement level, 43% at Distinction and 14% at Honors. Last year, they had 1661 incoming freshman, so 432 should have received a scholarship. Both Achievement and Distinction level were 186 each and Honors would have been around 60.
