Can anyone give me an educated guess on whether or not I have a good chance to get a full ride to UTD? I'm not sure about my gpa as my school doesn't use the 4.0 scale (I have a 104.5 if anyone is familiar with this gpa system), but I am rank 4/400. My biggest issue is definitely my sat score. If your sat score is below the averages for previous AES scholars is that really bad? I have a 2000 on my sat but my CR/Math combination is less then the listed Distinction Scholarship (1405). How important is your sat score in relation to getting either the honors or distinction scholarship? Will my class rank have a significant affect on the liklihood of me getting at least the Distinction? Thanks :)

It all depends. My SAT score was actually lower than yours (1980) and CR/Math (1360) when I applied but I received the Distinction scholarship. I’ve talked to people that had higher SAT scores than me that didn’t receive the Distinction scholarship. However, your rank should help a lot (top 1% is pretty darn good). They’ll also look at your extracurricular activities, and make sure you write those essays!!! Good luck!
