Chances of being accepted after being rejected once?

So I am currently a sophomore in college attending a two-year university in my hometown (in Wisconsin).
When I applied to Madison, my GPA was 3.0 and I scored a 30 on my ACT in high school. I also made not of my time spent as a volunteer and my involvement in clubs and other extracurricular activities. I just found out yesterday that Madison rejected me.
So my question is, if/when I re-apply for the spring 2017 semester, what are my chances of getting in, being that they already rejected me once? My GPA this semester is currently a 3.2, and I expect it to continue to rise before the time I re-apply?
Please let me know!

I’m actually really surprised you didn’t get in the first time! Your stats are on par/higher than usual.
I think if you get your GPA up and maybe take the act again (although a 30 is a great score for Madison) you should have a better chance.
When you apply again, make sure your essay gets across your great desire to attend the university, maybe add in some EC and you should be good.
Good luck!

No one really knows. You need to have backups in case they don’t take you.
