I’m planning on applying to NC State’s School of Engineering this fall to major in computer science, and I was curious about my chances of being admitted since the environment is highly competitive.
My stats:
Unweighted High School GPA: 4.65 (would be higher, but I’m attending an early college where a great portion of my courses are college classes, meaning each A = 4.0 grade points)
Weighted High School GPA: 3.92
College GPA: 4.0
ACT: 28 (planning to retake for a score of 30 or higher)
Virtually all of my high school courses are Honors courses, and I’ve taken a total of 49 credit hours worth of college courses. I’m active in student government; I’m participating in a STEM club; I was my school’s Student of the Year for 2015-2016; throughout my high school career I’ve earned several awards of excellence; I’m enrolled and active in National Honors Society; I have accumulated approximately 250 hours of volunteering service; additionally, I’ve participated in a state-level SkillsUSA Related Technical Math competition and attained second place.
I’m kind of worried about my school’s absence of AP credit, though the college courses likely fostered similar rigor.
Do I have a relatively decent chance of being accepted?
