Chances of being accepted

Hello
FSU is my top choice school and I recently found out I was deferred and was heart broken. I can’t imagine going anywhere else. My SAT meets the bare minimum of their requirements, 500 at least in all but my SAT total is a 1550. I’ve taken it three times, but I keep averaging 500 almost every time it annoys the heck out of me. I’m taking the ACT to send to FSU in February. My GPA weighted is 3.7. My mid-year grades are being sent and I only have on class that’s below an 80, the rest are 84 +
Has anyone else applied to FSU, been deferred and still be accepted?
I’m literally so heartbroken

Lots of people get accepted after deferral.

Nothing on your profile that you’ve said here though is really strong enough to stand on its own. An FSU GPA of 3.7 is near the bottom 25%. An SAT of 1550 is very low, just above their minimums. I believe that the lower GPA plus the low SAT got you deferred and unless you do really well on the ACT (a 1550 SAT = a 22 ACT, so you would need probably a 26+) I don’t think just the first semester’s grades will be strong enough to get you accepted, unfortunately.

I agree, you would need a very very very high GPA to even have a chance… Maybe a 4.7W would help a bit but with test scores that are right at the minimum and a GPA of 3.7 doesn’t look like you’ve got great chances. Retake your tests and continue to work on your GPA and then apply to UCF!

faithciavarella, don’t be to discouraged. If FSU is where you want to be make it happen. Take a look at Tallahassee Community College TCC 2 FSU program. https://www.tcc.fl.edu/Future/GoldenGuarantee/TCC2FSU/Pages/default.aspx
