<p>They would prefer to see AP Science scores going into the college, and SAT Subject Tests never hurt to show your commitment, but I’d say you have a decent shot.  However, it’s a competitive engineering program, so there’s no guarantee.  You can definitely get into UT, you’re top 7%.  I’d also apply to Texas A&M’s engineering school, as it ranks #2 in the United States for best Petroleum engineering programs, with UT as #1.<br>
Also, from being at UT over the summer, their non-honors dorms were awful.  From all my family that’s attended UT: You’re just another number in the massive school.  At A&M, they are known for doing a significantly better job at incorporating students and making the large college feel smaller.  I read somewhere questionable that it was the happiest Public University in the United States.
