Sorry I know this topic is a bit over-discussed but I have submitted my application and I'm going crazy waiting and not knowing so here it goes...
What are my chances of being admitted to Columbia University?
-I have applied Early Decision as it is my top choice.
-I have a grade percentage average of 101.4 and I am ranked 8th in my class of over 800 students.
-I attend a public school in Georgia.
-I have taken 8 AP exams (Chemistry, Biology, Macroeconomics, World History, US History, US Government, Language and Composition, Spanish Language). I received 5's on all of my exams except for Spanish which I took without ever being enrolled in the class (I got a 4).
-4 SAT Subject tests (Bio-770, World History-760, Chem-760, and Math II-750)
-2300 on my SAT (CR-800, Math-770, Writing-730)
-34 on ACT
-I am currently in the IB Diploma Programme at my school.
-I have played a varsity sport every year since freshman year.
-I am the head of the schools IB Club, started the club Young Moderates.
-I am an avid actress, I am signed to the biggest acting agencies in Atlanta and have been in feature films.
-I have had a job for the past two years, year round (even during sports seasons)
These are my main credentials. I am just worried because I am a fairly run-of-the-mill student. I feel like the only way to be admitted nowadays is if you cure cancer or something ridiculous.
I am worried because I feel as though I could shine if I had an interview or something because even if I don't have some major achievement I do have a personality and a sense of humor. I am not some sort of high-achieving robot! I tried to let this shine through in my application, but goodness am I nervous!
I realize this is pointless since I have already applied by my neurotic personality won't let me sit idly by and wait it out!

As you said, this is pointless. You’ll find out the real answer in a couple of weeks and none of us here are admissions officers. Chill. Rent a movie.

I agree with the advice to chill, and that no one here can predict whether you’ll be admitted. But speaking as the parent of a Columbia student, I think you’re a competitive candidate. And I can assure you that no student at Columbia has yet cured cancer! Seriously, try to focus on other things for the next two weeks. Wishing you the best of luck.

no student who cured cancer will be applying to any school… the schools would be applying to the student
