Chances of being transferred - Rice - Tamu

Hello all. This is my first post here, its another one one of those "can you tell me if I will be accepted" posts.

I was a bum in high school and did the bare minimum, I left with a 2.7 GPA. I joined the Army soon after graduating. I served for five years as an Intelligence Analyst and completed two tours to Iraq. I was honorably discharged in June and have been attending the Lone Star College System. I currently have 25 credit hours with a 4.0 GPA. I am pursing a degree in engineering. I will be applying to both Tamu and Rice. I will be utilizing the GI Bill to pay the tuition.

What do you think my chances of being accepted at either school? I feel I should have a decent chance at TAMU. I do not have a whole lot of extracurricular activities to add to the application. Do you think my military service will suffice?

Thanks for any help!

I think you still have to take the SAT, I’d call and ask the procedure for non traditional students. The 4.0 and the military experience are both great, I’m sure you’ll get in.
