Currently I’m a senior in high school and I really have my eyes set on Rutgers New Brunswick. I’m currently filling out my application right now and was wondering what my chances are?
I have an unweighted GPA of 3.75 (my school doesn’t provide weighted) and mostly took Honors and 6 AP courses over my 4 years of high school. I also have a 1300 on the new SAT, and am currently the top 10℅ rank of my grade. However my concerns are whether a lack of extracurriculars will not look good. The only activities I have are being in Concert Band for 2 years and Art Club for 1 year
I was wondering if with these chances I would be accepted in Rutger NB specifically.
Your choice of major may have a big impact on whether or not you are admitted.
Is this actually true? Because an admissions officer told me that it’s not so much the major that one chooses on the Rutgers application that impacts admission decisions, but rather it’s the school itself that one chooses. Apparently an applicant will have an easier time gaining admission to SAS rather than SOE or SEBS, even though SAS and SEBS both have some of the same types of programs (biology.biological sciences). This is simply because the applicant pool is more competitive for SOE and SEBS than it is for SAS.
@YesPolyglotGal I agree completely. Your comments were bettered worded and more helpful.
your gpa is GREAT and your sat score is good enough for rutgers. you’ll get in easy peezy lemon squeezy
