I am applying EA.

You are in the ball park, and your extras look good. Ea is also good. The pool is not decided yet, so there is no way of knowing who will get in, and who wont, it's all up to the admissions people. Good luck though, you should find out within a few months, I think I found out in December? If you have any questions feel free to message me.

thank you Zuljian :)
does anybody else have input? :-/

I think you have a great chance. I read in the New York Times - published by a Political Science Professor at Stony Brook, a trend of SAT scores and schools. Basically it described Stony Brooks average SAT score has increased by 7.9% to 1162? I am not sure, but it was published about a week and a half ago. This is pure speculation on my part, but I think that if you have around [1150-1300] and above with a good essay and EC's then you are good to go. Again, that is my opinion. I believe you have a great chance.

Here is the article; I believe he is speaking of the average SAT score increasing probably from last year, not this years- In my opinion I should think that the average SAT score will increase by 10% more.

<a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/18/opinion/18salins.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/18/opinion/18salins.html</a></p>

Oh and your average is a bit below the middle 50% but I think it balances it out.

And thats 1250/1840 - not 1760 lol

I'm always wary of "chancing" folks on these threads, but it looks like you'd be a competitive candidate. Good luck!
