I wanted to transfer into some good engineering college so I wanted to know what my real chances are.

College that i wanted to transfer to:

University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign
Purdue
University of Wisconsin - Madison
University of Texas at Austin

“GPA: 4.0 UW, 3.6 W”

Really? How could your weighted gpa be lower than unweighted?

I don’t know what these schools are doing with respect to transfers, sorry I can’t help.

Do you have complaints about UIC or are you just looking to upgrade?

yes, graduating in the top 15% or so in high school will kill you 34 ACT math for engineering and you want to attend Purdue? Be realistic…you have a pretty good chance… Lack of confidence is your biggest thing working against you from what youve said.

I think you have a solid shot at Purdue University and University of Illinois. I don’t know about Wisconsin and Texas, but if you wait and transfer during your junior year with the same GPA or better, then you should have a pretty decent chance. According to US News Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs rankings, Purdue and Texas are tied at number 9 and Illinois comes slightly ahead at number 5, tied with Georgia Tech. Wisconsin is not mentioned in the top 10 but Im sure its definitely in the top 20. It also depends on what specific major you want to study (some schools are better than others in specific programs). Anyway i hope this helps, and all the best with your transfer applications!

@treetopleaf yeah, i definitely mixed those two up

@charliet301 Thanks for the answer! appreciate it

I’m just wondering if i can get in MIT if i have an internship at the Fermilab?
