Chances of getting into a good engineering school?

Hi! I am a senior in high school, and I was wondering what people thought of my chances of getting into these schools for civil/environmental engineering and public policy:
Clemson University (top choice; preferably Honors; in state) - Already applied
Carnegie Mellon
Georgia Tech (top choice) - Already applied
Duke University
Vanderbilt
NC State - Already applied
Purdue University
Rochester Institute of Technology

I have a 3.6 GPA (out of 4.0), my SAT score is a 1420 (top section scores are 720 for Reading and 710 for Math) and my ACT score is a 31 (top section scores are 31 for Math and Science and 35 for Reading and English). I am currently waiting for my new ACT scores from the November date. I volunteer at my library and play in the masterclass and district orchestra. I was a leadership intern for Camp Invention for one summer. I am a captain of my school’s science team and I got 2nd place in a state-wide engineering competition. I am a nominee to be a Presidential Scholar, and I also work to help out my family. The AP courses I have already taken are Human Geography, Statistics, World History, Chemistry, Language and Composition, US History, and Psychology (I have gotten 4s and 5s on all of them). This year my AP courses are BC Calculus, Government, Microeconomics, and Physics 1 and 2. I also have college credit in an intro engineering classes from taking a dual credit class.

Please let me know what you think! Thanks!

I know very little about engineering personally. But after reading CC for almost a year, I feel confident in saying engineering is ridiculously competitive for admissions and you really need some safeties.

Rowan?
UAH?

Math section for both ACT and SAT are low for GT CMU Duke Vandy, for others I’d say a solid shot with Purdue being a solid match.

Congratulations on your accomplishments so far. Nice work!

I like your list, as a recruiter and a proud Dad of a Civil Engineer. Son (who ended up going to in-state Rowan mainly due to the free ride tuition & housing offered during the Great Recession) had SAT scores very similar to yours. Just curious, if you’re considering RIT (which I’m not even sure has your field of interest), why not Cornell, which does? Son was accepted there.

If you want to add another safety, why not Virginia Tech?

You’ll be just fine. Just pick the school that fits your budget and where you can see yourself getting involved. Good luck!

Are they all affordable?

What are you looking for in a university in addition to a major? :bz
