I’m a freshman and I did decent this semester my grades were B-, B-, B+, A-, A, A+ and my gpa was a 3.2, I haven’t done any extra curricular activity this year but I hope to change that sophomore year. What are my chances on getting into an ivy league school or a uc school or nyu?
Way too early to be giving you any idea of your chances. You have 1 year of grades under your belt, no ACT/SAT scores and no EC’s.
UC’s only use 10-11th grades for their GPA calculation but will look at your Freshman grades to make sure you pass the a-g course requirements. Ivy League schools will all be Reaches even with stellar stats, EC’s, LOR’s and essays since their acceptance rates are so low.
My advice is continue working hard by taking rigorous classes but take courses where you know you will get good grades. Start getting involved in some clubs, sports, community service etc… and stick with it for the next 3 years. Enjoy your time in HS and stay away from CC until end of your Junior year where you can then ask your questions/chances.
As @Gumbymom said, it is way too early to chance you, especially since we have no ACT/SAT to work with. Anyone who says they can is either lying or does not know what they are talking about.
Keep on working hard and do not be afraid to ask for help. At this point, your GPA is significantly below the average for the schools you mentioned (besides some UCs), but it is just your freshman year and you can definitely improve.
