I’m thinking about applying to NYU Steinhardt for its Applied Psychology program
My Stats are:
3.3 UW; 3.52 W (Yes, I know this is bad)
35 ACT; 35 Math, 33 Writing, 36 Reading, 34 Science
750 SAT II Chem; 730 SAT II Math IIC (I intend to take it again for 750+)
Not too many extracurriculars, but I think my essay is pretty good.
I have a lot of volunteer hours, and participated in Marching Band for 4 years: Won National Title 3 times.
Just including these below. Not sure if it will help at all.
Non School Sanctioned EC’s:
Piano: Played for over 10 years. Participated in recitals and competitions. Advanced Proficiency
Guitar: Played for 2 years. Part of Praise Team at church. Proficient.
Clarinet: Played for 8 years during Middle and High school. Advanced Proficient.
Saxophone: Played for 1 year in High school marching band. Proficient
I did not do well during the first three years of highschool, but I am taking AP Psychology, AP Calculus AB, AP World History, Honors Humanities, SUPA (Syracuse college credits) Forensics, and SUPA Spanish 4. I intend to boost my GPA by at least a little before I send in my applications. SUPA is basically a mix between AP and Honors. It is weighted like how a honors class would be weighted.
I was a National Merit Participant. (210 PSAT)
I might take another SAT II Subject test (Bio or World History)
By the time I send off these results, my Weighted GPA will hopefully be at 3.58 - 3.62.
My school is a competitive public school (Northern Highlands).
If there is any more info I need to add PLEASE let me know :D
Thank you so much! This means a lot to me!
Also, if I can’t get in regular, would I get in ED?
