Chances of Getting into BC?

Hi I’m a junior in high school and would like to know my chances of getting into BC! Thanks in advance!

ACT: 29 (first time taking this test)
English: 33
Math: 28 (pretty good for me considering I’m only in honors algebra II, not precalc)
Reading: 30
Science: 24 (Ugh, I know I can definitely improve this score)
Essay: TBD (didn’t get score yet)
Will be retaking and hopefully boosting it up a point or two

SAT: TBD.

GPA: unweighted: 3.89 (This will go up more because I know my grades for my junior year are better than my sophomore year.)
Weighted: 4.38

Classes: All of my classes are honors, but next year I’m taking 3 AP’s (Gov, Spanish, Psych)

EC:
Secretary of Global Voice (11), member (10)
Member of student gov (9, 10, 11) (Running for president/vp for grade 12)
Organized Snow Ball dance for Student Gov
I do the school morning announcements (March 2014-present)
Member of Best Buddies (10, 11)
Member of school orchestra since 6th grade
Will be principle viola chair in 12th grade
Member of Girl Scouts
200+ community service hours
Member of HHA (Hawks Honors Association, like National Honors Society but less prestigious)
I am applying to the NHS this year (and will most likely get in because I have the one leadership position I was missing last year), the World Language Honors Society, and Link Crew.

Awards:
Student Government Award of Excellence

Note: I’m a girl interested in computer science, so maybe that will help me.

Dear viola627 : Your composite ACT score (29) is below the BC midpoint and your Math/Science combination (28/24) would almost certainly disqualify your application. Your ACT composite should be in the 32 range to gain additional comfort and you should be looking to have all component grades in the 30+ range.

Aside from Spanish AP, your AP courses are soft-AP courses. For example, “hard-AP” courses would be considered (for example) Calculus (BC over AB), Biology, Chemistry, Physics, World/European History, American History, and English to name a few. In parallel, the social science exams such as Micro/Macro Economics do receive some top billing in parallel with Government. If your school is offered these top “hard-AP” courses and you are not enrolled, you are not taking the most aggressive curriculum possible which will negatively impact the view of your overall GPA. Think about being in the top level and competing with the best at your school.

Clearly involved in music, your activities show many point items as opposed to on-going commitment. For example, what was the impact of student government - what did you achieve? Boston College will be more interested in how you shaped your class rather than your titles that go without achievements.

Do you have any sports engagements?

What did you do with your 200+ hours of community service? What difference did it make? What was improved?

Clearly, there are many questions here to consider which makes rendering a thumbs-up review very difficult at this stage.
