You are just a junior, and you already have a solid foundation for your application. Work hard on your essays and make them creative. Being a paid musician is good because it shows that you are not strictly a science guy. Highlight your diverse interests.

Dude you just made me feel bad about myself, and I am sure you are going to get into Brown. Also nice way for representing the Latino community, and make sure to apply for scholarships because they are going to be impressed by you and make sure to take a couple of more AP’s like in English to improve your writing and History but I think you are set.

thanks a lot man! I really appreciate the help! a lot of the people in my community are all trying to help me and they want us to be represented really well so they’re always giving me advice…it really helps to have a strong foundation

You have 70% to get in… Latino with great stats. Now it up to your essay, and another 2 years performance. You also need some leadership position.

leadership: are debate/science/religion club positions good?
essays: who should i approach with help fixing them? teachers? professional consultants?

? i’m confused you’re going to be a JUNIOR?

okay just keep rolling for another year on this track and show as much interest in EVERYTHING as possible, not just medicine. and you’re good to go.

hi ankscript, leadership positions in debate/science/religion club are good.
essays: You need to demonstrate your own genuine heart/passion, and your writing skills.
To hire consultants to fix essay is Ok but not necessary. Most important is the essay comes from yourself, and from bottom of your heart. Help it helps.

Essays that I’ve seen come from “professional” editors sometimes seem too stilted and formulaic. They often remove the individuality and “quirkiness” that can make your essay more enjoyable to read, and sound like it rings true to who you are. So be careful in how much revision your helping readers give you. Yes, by all means have proof reading, and some input done, but you don’t want your essay to sound like it was written by someone else. That might help for some other colleges, but not for Brown.
