Chances of getting into Brown University

Hello to those of this forum and my title is my question- What are my chances of getting into Brown University? I'm new to this website and I'm a junior at a low performing inner-city school in Providence, Rhode Island. (Dr. Jorge Alvarez High School to be exact)

This is my information that I think is relevant to enrollment-
(I would be happy to add in anything)
-3.5 GPA
-2 AP Classes (out of 3 offered for my grade, was a bit scared to do AP Spanish)
-SAT unknown so far, however I'm currently taking two SAT preparation courses both of which are more or less run by Brown.
-6 College Credits already (One for a introduction to college at our local community college and another which teaches an introductory course in chinese)
-Varsity wrestler and football player, wrestled this year and planning on wrestling again next year, played defensive lineman JV as a freshman and I'm playing as a defensive lineman next year.
-Varsity debater, have gotten several awards and trophies (run by Brown as well, R.I.U.D.L)
-Minority, my mother is an immigrant from Guatemala
-Her income is roughly 25,000 annually
-Mother is single parent
-I consider myself an excellent writer and my essay is going to be based around Brown University, how it has affected me in the course of my life (which it has quite a bit) and why I really want to go there

Major-
-Mythology (I'm very interested in Greek mythology) Part of the reason is for interest and another part is for easier entrance due to low amount of sign-ups
-Other major is for a paying job
-Going to do early access

Any help, tips, advice, etc. would be very very appreciated!

Your GPA is a bit low, but it is hard to chance without test scores or a rank. Being a URM will help…

Oops, sorry. I’m ranked 6th in my class. That’s for fooling around freshman year though.

A question I have is just what can I do to improve my chances? Anything that Brown loves in a student which I can take advantage of?

I’m working on getting my GPA up too, should be up to 3.7 by the end of the year.

I’d say you have a fairly good chance at Brown. Your 6 college credits will definitely help, and you seem to already have involvement with Brown which may or may not help. Your GPA is a bit low, and the fact that you did not take the max number of APs your school has to offer may hurt, but it will most likely not be too detrimental to your application. Just make sure you do well on your SATs, get stellar recommendations, and write a great essay! Good luck!

Do you think you could chance me as well? I am a junior also applying to Brown. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1470328-chance-brown-plme-ed.html
