Chances of getting into Columbia, NYU, Brown, Dartmouth, or Cornell?

Hi, I'm 17 years old and am starting my second semester of community college this spring. I just wanted to know what my chances are of getting Ito the aforementioned schools - I know it is a pervasive question on this site but I need to know :)

Okay I did not graduate from high school in the US, I graduated from a Private school in Nigeria in 2008 at the age of 15. I graduated with a 3.90 GPA and a WASSCE grade average of mostly B's and C's, with a couple of A's thrown in. I also took the IGCSE's and received an A in English as a second language(although it is actually my first), a B in Economics, C's in Religious Studies and another subject I fail to remember at this moment, but it carries some academic clout, and a D in Maths which I made up for with a C when I retook the subject in the GCSE's whilst I schooled in England. Unfortunately the rest of my GCSE'S subjects whilst in England were rather mediocre so I doubt I will mention them on the application but if I must, 2 other C's, 1 D and 1 U(which is terrible). I am currently enrolled in the community college where I maintain a 3.83 GPA and by the time I transfer will hopefully be about a 4.0 or higher(I want to transfer in my junior year). I am possibly going to have Phi Theta Kappa membership, and I recently moved to the US as a legal resident (in September 2010) so I will jot be applying as an international student. I will be joining the debate team this semester as I do love public speaking, and will take up a work study or an internship in an office this summer. Does the lack of extra curricular activities affect me gravely seeing as I haven't lived here for that long? I'm sure I can get great letters of recommendation both from my high school and my current college, and I have been taking rigorous classes since I got to Community College(and excelling at them). Also I am a liberal arts major if that helps. And i will be taking the SAT this month and am predicting 2050 and upwards. I eill also take subject tests later on in the year which im sure i will do well on (650 at the least). I apologise for the poor format of this post; I typed it from my phone. Any information would be nice. Thank you :)

Although chance threads are always difficult to gauge (I’m not an admissions officer, after all), yours is such a unique situation that it’s even harder to tell. From what I understand, WASSCE B’s and C’s are pretty good. Also, your SAT scores should be okay, especially given the circumstances. I do -not- believe your lack of long-term extracurriculars will be too much of a problem, and the things you’re planning to do this year (internship, debate, etc.) sound like good ideas. It’s definitely important, however, that you improve your GPA as much as possible from this point forth.

I’m truthfully not certain what to tell you. If you explain your unusual background, though, it should help you in the admissions process.

Thank you Exodus, I really appreciate the insight.
I’m thinking about applying to the sciences Po program at GS and I would really love to be accepted.
