Also, what should i do if I do not know my counselors that well, will they still give me a good recommendation or should i give them a list of what to include in it?

Will also be the only one in my school that has ever applied for Notre Dame

bumb anyone??

I would expect you to be accepted, though college admissions are always somewhat uncertain. Notre Dame is one of the few top universities where asians are not overrepresented, so you would have a particularly good shot. Btw, I believe you mean Class of 2016 lol.

Cool! but what about my counselor recommendation? I don’t know her all to well so will this affect the recommendation and what do you guys suggest I do to boost my chances based on the information I had given.

I wouldn’t worry about a counselor recommendation too much. My senior class had 31 kids get accepted to ND, and our counselors were a complete waste of space. None of them were all that familiar with their counselor, but it worked out alright.

so out of 100% whats my shot? :]

bigmike - what high school did you attend? Benet?

I went to St. Joseph’s High School in South Bend. Granted, our numbers were probably a bit skewed because some of the kids had parents who were faculty/staff at ND, but at least half got in on their own merit. I think only 3 or 4 got rejected to be honest.
And it’s hard to really say out of 100%. Sometimes ND rejects great applicants for seemingly no reason. I’d just be sure to make yourself stand out as much as possible.

i would say 95%
you seem like an exceptional hard working student.
of course your test scores will matter
but you seem to be a hard worker and i doubt you will do bad on them

Thanks guys!

Make sure you proof your essays! Also…if you prep/cram for SATs or ACTs, you should be a definite…Score well in standardized tests and with your credentials, you should be in. From what I can see at our school, Notre Dame weights SAT/ACT scores heavily (compared to UMich and UVA which I would put in the same category as ND)

Hey should I do Early Decision or Regular Decision

bump, anyone? Notre Dame is the school im sure i want to be attending, but with these stats can I get in EA?

For the most part, your test scores will determine whether you apply EA or RD. It is very hard to say but the rest of your app looks great! It also never hurts to send an email to your regional admissions councilor and ask them. Good Luck!

Contact your regional rep at ND. Make a point to meet with him/her anytime there is a local visit, especially if you cannot travel to ND. The rep will be your greatest advocate and best source of info. Mine is wonderful and will be a friend the whole time I am at ND.
Work hard on your ACT/SAT exams, make sure your essays show why your are a good fit for ND. This is one school that really looks beyond the stats to be sure that people are right for the school, but you still need good stats. Get to know your school counselor, give him/her a copy of your resume and a list of what you believe are your strengths. It will be easier for the person to write a good rec if you give them good information.
