what are my chances?

<p>im applying to notre dame early action</p>

<p>race: indian male
public school in Indiana
class rank: 20/403 top 5%
GPA: 4.2 W, 3.8 UW
AP Classes: Chemistry, English 11, English 12, Stats, AB Calc, Biology, Physics (ive taken about 80% of the ap classes offered at my school)
ACT: 30 (Superscore of 32)
EC: Student council, business professionals of America (2 years), national honors society (2 years) president, habitat for humanity (4 years) vice president, freshman orientation/integration program council member, 4 years varsity soccer, volunteer lab work at indiana university, volunteer camp counselor for 5th graders, trumpet player in jazz band (2 years)</p>

<p>my teacher and counselor recommendations should be very strong, all i need to finish is my essay</p>

<p>how are my chances at early action?-be honest</p>

<p>I would recommend retaking the ACT to see if you can get that number up a few points--if you do, I would say your application seems solid (not that I can make any guarantees, as I'm an applicant myself; this judgement comes from a comparison of what I've seen on cc). Obviously you'll need a really good essay, too.</p>

<p>Your stats are on the low side for EA; I'd recommend applying RD unless you can get your ACT up to at least 32.</p>

<p>I'm pretty sure Notre Dame does not superscore the ACT, but instead uses the best composite only.</p>

<p>I agree, if you can get your ACT up a bit, you should apply EA.</p>

<p>I wouldn't apply EA unless you get the ACT up to 32+ (ND doesn't superscore), and because the ACT is not offered again until Oct 25, and you'll have to send it in blindly, I'd apply RD. ND EA is for the "over-qualified" applicant who thinks he can send in his best application in November. Based on your stats, I'd say you are qualified, but certainly not over-qualified.
But you should have a solid shot RD, you'll definitely be competitive.</p>
