I’m starting my second year at a CC and I was wondering what my chances of getting into UCLA’s nursing program was. I know the program accepts about 10 people per year for transfers but if there were any people who were accepted through transfer, I’d like to know what made you stand out, if possible. I currently have a 4.0 GPA and will complete my major requirements and IGETC by next summer. I started volunteering at a hospital recently (nursing unit) and will have about 100 hours by the time the supplemental application is due (already started outlining for the supplemental application based off of their criteria). I also work in a healthcare consultant firm as a part timer but I really don’t have other extracurriculars at the moment other than my volunteer activities. I did apply to the honors program at my school (didn’t know it existed until recently) and I’m also a part of the MESA program which also exists at UCLA. I applied for CCCP SITE LITE as well but haven’t gotten an acceptance call/email yet. How high/low are my chances of getting into the nursing program? Any type of advice or constructive criticism would help, thank you.
I have no idea about your chances. However I will suggest you attend one of their information sessions. If you aren’t in the area hopefully they have them on Skype. Contact nursing admissions to find out more (they used to have a link listing upcoming sessions but I can’t find it anymore)
