I would like to know what my chances are of getting into the above schools as well as other schools like GW, Penn State, UMD, University of Michigan, Princeton, UCLA, USC, Boston University, and Boston College. NYU is my dream school so I’m more interested in my chances for that than the others, I plan on applying to Gallatin but also want to see what my chances are for Steinhardt and the College of Arts and Sciences
For reference I am currently a junior.
APs:
Sophomore: 1, AP Government
Junior: 3, AP World History, AP Language & Composition, and AP Chemistry
Senior (next year): 5, AP Psychology, AP Biology, AP Literature, and AP Calculus BC, and a year long STEM Research Practicum which is considered an AP class in my school and is weighted
I’ve taken all honors classes that were not APs or electives which is required in the program I’m in. Honors classes in my county are also not weighted (only APs).
I am in a Magnet STEM program at my school even though my line of studies I want to pursue in college has little to do with STEM.
Extra-Curriculars: Honors Film Association, Art Club, Drama Tech, helped with Spirit Week, Imara Roose (mentorship program catered to black girls; I was a mentee), STEM mentor for incoming 9th graders, President of my school’s Social Justice club which I started this year, and Japanese National Honor Society early inductee (nominated this year, will start in the fall of senior year)
Cumulative GPA at the moment is pretty low due to my lack of effort in previous years, a cumulative of 3.5, however I have gotten 4.0 for the first two quarters of the school year and plan on ending the first quarter of senior year with a cumulative of 3.86 (to my calculations)
I have yet to take the SAT (scheduled in February but postponed b/c of Storm Jonas) but I will probably have to rely on my ACT scores which is 30, since the practice tests I’ve taken for SATs were somewhere in the 1600 range.
