Chances of getting into the University of Maryland

<p>What kind of GPA and SAT scores do I need to get into UMD? Also, what extra curricular activities and community service hours do I need? I'm a sophomore in high school an this is what I have so far/ hoping to get by the end of high school</p>

<p>3.5 GPA unweighted
Hoping to finish 5 AP classes by te end of high school
Only got a 1250 on the PSAT but I'm hoping to raise my SAT to a 1600 or 1700
Not very many community service hours
Play basketball lacrosse unified bocce ball
Do I have chance to get in my senior year? And what do I need to work on to get in?</p>

<p>Get more extracurricular activities that aren’t sports. Try to raise your GPA a bit, while taking challenging courses. Get 1800+ on the SAT. If you can do those things, you’ll stand a good chance of getting into UMD. Good luck!</p>

<p>UMD: Aim for 1900+ on the SAT or 27+ on the ACT</p>

<p>If you get an 1850 on the SAT and raise your GPA as high as you can, then your chances are good.
With a 1700 its a low reach
With an 1850 its a match</p>
