Chances of getting into the University of Michigan

I (will) have a 3.86 gpa after i complete junior year
I have taken 3 "weighted classes" plus many honors courses and am also a year ahead in math
I got a 27 on the practice ACT and am looking to increase to 28-30 range on the real one
I am in NHS, Interact Club, SALT Club, Ski Club
2 (will be 3) years of varsity soccer
1 year freshman basketball

what are my chances?? (btw im looking to get into Ross....most likely sophomore year as I see no way of being admitted as a freshman)

THANK YOU!!

Also I know this is a reach but…do i have any chance at getting into Notre Dame?

yeah notre dame is going to be a huge reach. you have a chance at Michigan, but try to get your ACT to a 30

They’re both reaches until you get your ACT up.
Good luck!

yeah notre dame is not gonna happen…just thought i would throw it out there. I am also considering illinois, indiana and miami (OH). I really like michigan but am worried about not getting into Ross as a sophomore. What have you heard about these schools and what do you think I should do if i am able to get into Michigan?

Ross is extremely difficult to get into as an undergrad, so when you apply to Michigan, apply to LSA. Also, Miami Ohio is another good school that you should be able to get into. Good luck.

if you get your act score up to around a 30 you have a pretty good shot at michigan, notre dame will be a stretch but you might as well apply… http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1098460-chance-me-please-ill-chance-back.html</a></p>

if i get into michigan should i take the risk of not getting into Ross?

aka how hard is it to meet all the requirements to ensure i will be admitted?

with your stats, you probably won’t get into Michigan if you apply to Ross. Apply to LSA, get accepted, and try for Ross as a sophomore or junior

out of curiosity what do you know about Clemson…(just found out my high school allows me to get in-state tuition there)

i am from Ohio btw…if thats useful for forture questions/answers on here

i think you’ll get in to michigan!! the ross school’s preferred admit program is incredibly difficult to get in to. like 33+ACT and a near perfect gpa. but definitely go for it sophmore or junior year. i just got into LSA this past december. just boost your ACT by 2 points or so and you’ll be solid. oh and keep up with the athletics, they’ll like that. please chance me back! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1098326-notre-dame-chances-please.html</a></p>

ok im gonna make this a little more specific…i am fairly sure i want to major in accounting, and here as long as its “something” certified, it doesnt matter where you go. I live in Ohio and would not like to go more that 4 hours outside the state, but at the same time would probably prefer to be out of state…any suggestions? thank you

You’ve got a decent chance at LSA, but it’s doubtful you’ll make Ross pre-admit, which is extremely selective.

Your GPA and ACT should be fine, although your ACT could be helped quite a bit by 1 or 2 points.

Your ECs are pretty weak from the way you’ve described them here. This is the biggest area of concern with your application.

I’m not sure what your school offers in terms of rigorous classes, but you should be fine if you keep taking APs and other weighted classes. If you don’t continue these, this could also be a problem.

My daughter got in this year and everything you had was similiar but she had a 29 on the ACT.
