My PSAT scores project a 2000 for sat, but I'm aiming more towards 1900

Live with a single parent, and have been on free lunch all of high school.
Any feedback would be nice, as well as any suggestions!

Oh also, my weighted gpa is a 4.0 and a tiny bit higher on the UC gpa system I believe. I’m also in the top 10% of my class of 403

match for davis - reach for cal.
seems likely you’ll be accepted into davis even though you are out of state.

also, why are you aiming lower than your psat projected sat score? people tend to get a higher sat than the psat projected because the psat is usually taken much earlier.

For Berkeley, under 5% chance, and here’s why: You did not take AP Bio, APChem, AP Calc or AP Physics, the big 4 APs for aspiring science majors. YOu instead took Honors Chem, NO Physics, AP Stats, and AP Enviro. what message does this send to the adcom at Berkeley and other top 25 Unis? No need to elaborate, you get the picture, it’s all there in your choice in all four areas to avoid the most demanding class offered at your HS.

Additionally, you finished the year in both Honors Bio and AP enviro with B grades. Maybe that is not the best college major fit for what you are naturally good at?

For Davis, you’re 40%, for the same reason.

Based on the courses you actually selected for AP - English, USH, Stats and Psychology, it apprears you want to major in Psych, History or English in college. What other inference can be made from your choices? Either that is your true interest, or you are afraid you can’t excel in real science APs.

Dunnin, my school doesn’t offer ap bio, ap chem, ap physics, or ap calc. I have enrolled in basically all of the ones offered at my school. I didn’t necessarily take them to reflect a specific interest, but rather to show I am interested in rigorous courses. With that in account do you think they’ll maybe be more lenient and focus more on my EC’s?
Also, what other UC colleges, or others would you recommend for my interests and stats?

If your school doesn’t offer AP science classes, you should try taking classes at a community college to show interest in rigorous science classes.

Yeah that’s true. I’m considering enrollment in some summer classes at the community college nearby. What would you say my chances are as of now?

OK, if your school doesn’t offer AP Chem, AP Bio or AP Calc, then you get a pass for that. Still, how would do in college taking courses against students who HAVE taken such courses and therefore have the advantage over you… that’s a real issue. I agree you should try to take an AP level course at a community college this summer.

I think you’re pretty likely to get into UC Davis, but Berkeley is a high reach.

You’re from Florida huh? What made you want to go to Davis?
