Chances of Getting into UCI

Background: I am a biology major. I currently have a 3.25 GPA. I will complete 62 credits by the end of fall semester. I have just finished my first year of community college and I am planning to apply for Fall 2019 Quarter. I have done various numbers of volunteering events offered by my school. I applied to a health program and got past the interview but was unable to complete the clearance requirements to enter the program and is postponed until February 2019 until I can officially be a part of it. In the future, I am hoping to become a physician’s assistant or a surgeon (specialize in cardiology)

Concerns: I feel worried that my GPA to transfer in as a Biology major is not very competitive compared to others. So, I am wondering what it is that UCI typically looks for in an applicant and ways to make my application and personal statements more competitive.

Thank you in advance.

There is no data available for 2018 Transfers, but for 2017 Transfers for Biological Science the 25th-75th percentile admit range was 3.28-3.79. If your GPA remains near the 25th percentile, it will not be an easy acceptance and you need to have some backups.
