Hello,
I am curious what my chances are of getting into UC Irvine. It is my top choice school for a large number of reasons (the campus is gorgeous too).
I am a transfers student from a 4-year (UC Santa Cruz). I was also previously a transfer from a California community college.
I have a 4.0 GPA, have had an internship, have had years of volunteer work, and have met all math and English basic requirements.
However, I only have a partial IGETC certification (deficient in only one class) from my community college. I am a psychology major and art minor.

What are my chances? I am a junior now, but I will be a senior when I transfer to UCI for the fall of 2010. I really want to be admitted!

Umm, I’m pretty sure that the UC system doesn’t accept Senior transfers (more than 135 transferable quarter units). I’d double check on that just in case, but I’m pretty sure they don’t.

Actually, I will have 134 quarter units. I will be a junior, but just barely. I think that the main requirements are the General Education reqs that are recognized between the UCs.

I also think it will be very tough with so many credits. They are cutting back the number accepted and will be having a hard enough time accommodating the CC transfers they must admit to consider a UC to UC transfer at your stage.

Thanks. What is “low reach”? Are you saying that UCI has relatively low requirements so it will be easier to get in? I could care less about almost every other college (including the ivy leagues). I’ve had my eyes set on UCI for years now, but I guess they wanted me to have more ECs.
