<p>I have one more year before I transfer out of my community college.
With a below average GPA right now (below 3.0), I feel I can pull it up to a 3.4 or 3.5 by the semester prior to transferring.
My question is, what are my chances of getting into UCLA with communications major with the slight advantage that I'm a resident and transferring from a community college? I have basically one year or 4-5 semesters to boost my GPA.
What other suggestions should I keep in mind to improve my chances of getting in.
I also know that the average admission for communication major at UCLA is 3.7.
So really, what are my chances? =(</p>
<p>(My other options were Cal States. i know deciding to aim for UCLA is a drastic change)
thank you in advance for your valuable advices.</p>
<p>Hi there!</p>
<p>Unfortunately, I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news, your chances are a wee bit slim.</p>
<p>Unless you have AMAZING Letters of recs and the sort, it will be hard.</p>
<p>I had a 3.86 and a 2300 SAT and got rejected from UCLA for the same major so it’s not easy</p>
<p>Your chances are slim but choose your classes wisely don’t take “easier” irrelevant classes that will boost your gpa. UCLA has requirements for transfers such as certain classes and gpa. This is also a VERY competitive major so having the bear minimum will not be enough. To look at their requirements in depth go here. <p>Best of luck!</p>
