Just wondering if anyone has any input on my chances of getting into the University of Florida. I know that UF doesn’t consider major for freshmen applicants but I would want to major in finance w a minor in information systems. Here’s my situation.
•Out of State (NY)
•1370 Sat
•3.7 gpa UW ( so far)
•7 AP classes (including the ones I’m taking next year)
Extracurriculars:
•freshmen year basketball
•varsity soccer since sophomore year (played jv before that)
•national honor society
•freshmen class officer
•played year round premier soccer all of high school
•two jobs throughout hs
•over 100 hours of community service
Also I’m only a junior so some of these stats may change. However, I will not be taking the sat again.
UF is a gamble, people with stats that seem good enough get rejected and some people with lower stats OOS get in. I wouldn’t set your heart on anything but do everything to let UF know it is your top choice
@bmclaren2021 Put the hammer down for the remainder of the year, as UF will only look at your grades through the end of your junior year. Continue taking rigorous classes as a senior. Take the standardized tests as many times as you can stomach. Try the ACT if you haven’t already as some kids do better on one than the other – and UF now superscores the ACT. While UF views other things about test scores, it is one part of the application that can be improved upon all the way up to the deadline in November. And if you don’t get into UF, a higher score can lead to better scholarship offers at the other state schools.
