Chances of getting into Wharton?

It was an AP Course as well.

No offense but if you are anywhere near the quality of an ivy applicant interested in business, you should not be getting a B- in econ, AP or not.

Sorry but I just find it A LITTLE hard to believe that a 16/17 year old can turn 1k into 240k.

What’s your strategy? Do you invest long-term or short-term? If you are consistently able to turn 1k into 240k, I’d say you should forget about college and call Warren Buffet right now to become a partner. Now, if it’s a one time thing (aka buying apple stocks in 2006, buying gold in 1999 etc.), I don’t really see how it can be valuable in terms of your overall application other than being an anecdote.

Short term. I’m a day trader. I don’t really need to prove anything Jeremy. Besides, it runs in the family. My cousin Teddy started out with 10k and turned it into 3 million within three years, and all he did was trade online, just like me. My Dad has helped me a lot along the way too, but it’s mostly just been me.

About the B- in Economics: my teacher’s insane. She’s notorious for handing out C’s, a B is an accomplishment in her class. I don’t really care about it though. I’m taking another Econ class next year, I’ll get an A.

I got a 5 on the exam though.

So you are basically telling me that you are able to go to school and at the same time keep an eye out on the news, and somehow beat out the professionals who do this for a living? (Keep in mind that when someone wins in the stock market, another has to lose) Where do you make the transactions, on your phone, while you take a bathroom break from class?

Of course you don’t have to prove anything – I’m just doubtful of the truth to your story, that’s all.

^Lol dude, just let this go before it escalates. Even if she is lying, who the heck cares? It’s an anonymous internet forum. Also, I highly doubt she’d go to the lengths of photoshopping that image just to prove something to random internet people.

Mother of god…There have been threads like this, I remember one on the Stanford thread where the OP had 2 apps on the Apple App Store Top #100 at one point. I think this kills it. You are in a lucky position, being a once-in-a-blue-moon applicant, and incredible, even by CC standards [I’m looking at you freshman taking AP Calc…]. I know this post is in no way helpful, but I simply must say it: ** You have a great chance anywhere if you can make over 240,000 dollars in little over a year **. All I can say is I’m honored to have heard your story.

Or you are the greatest ■■■■■ of all time. Either way, I respect you…

I won’t believe it until you send me $100 grand and I deposit it into my bank account.

Please God, let him want to prove it to me… Lol. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Sophia - How did you get a 5 on the AP exam when the exam hasn’t been given yet? You said you were a sophomore and I thought you were taking AP Econ this year. Maybe I misread something in your original post.

Also, how did you get to be President of the FBLA club as a sophomore and Treasurer of the Student Council (unless it’s for your class and not the entire school)? Those are positions that juniors and seniors would normally have.

^Probably the same way she made over 240k.

Jeremy Lin, I have my TD Ameritrade App on my phone. When I have downtime in my classes/in between I watch my stock. It isn’t that hard with technology nowadays, and teachers don’t really care if students are on their phone in their class at my school.

MSNDIS, I am taking AP Econ right now, yes. I (plan on getting) a 5 on the test. Apologies. I didn’t want to lengthen out things like, “My exam hasn’t been given yet… but I know I’ll get a 5…”. I just wanted to see if I’d still have good chances for acceptance to uPenn even though I have a B- in the class and got 3 B’s Freshman year with no honors.

Also, the FBLA isn’t a big club my any means at all in my school, I was eligible to run, though I’m not positive if this applies to other schools. I am Treasurer of my class. My bad.

Man, it really amazes me how doubtful you all are of me.

I am a sophomore international student from a Philadelphia high school. Wharton is always my dream school, but after read your information, I have no confidence at all…hope you can get into It, and don’t forget to send me a postcard from Wharton.

You’re a fraud @sophiatchaika. Those aren’t real tickers in your screenshot. Nice try

I hate to bring this thread back to life. But I am a HS Junior that is also thinking about applying ED to Wharton. I daytrade too (best trade wasn’t actually a daytrade but I bought TSLA on IPO). That was a 900% return and it was extremely lucky.

A 239,000% return? Yeah if that was real you’d be getting more than a few offers to work at hedge funds. Heck if I made that return I agree I don’t think I would be going to college with that income.

Just for the thrill of it though, I decided backtest your symbols in Thinkorswim but just like CygnusAtratus I found your symbols don’t and haven’t ever existed.

Please don’t pull a Martoma and go around falsifying college applications. Good luck getting into Wharton.
