Chances of getting preferred housing situation?

If I submit my housing deposit and application within a week from today, April 21, what are the chances that I will get my first choice, a double in the Richmond Quadrangle in the Ellicott complex?

If anyone can help me by giving me any answers, past experiences or whatever you can, it will be very appreciated.

I honestly couldn’t give you any guarantee, but I will tell you about what happened when I was coming to UB.

I made my decision late, and submitted my housing deposit on May 1st. I got into a quad in Wilkeson by the skin of my teeth. I ended up in the quad (which is what I wanted) because another student decided last minute that he didn’t want to live in Ellicott.

With that being said, you may or may not get into a double in Ellicott, you might get a quad or a triple. Either way, it really isn’t a big deal - learning to deal with people is a big part of living in the dorms. Also the building that you live in is also, not a huge deal. Ellicott is Ellicott. Granted, my situation happened back in 2007, lots has probably changed. Regardless, you will make due with whatever living situation you end up in. I know many people who got placed on south, only to end up liking it a lot.

Thanks for your answer. Can anyone else tell me any past experiences?

Past experiences will likely not apply because they are opening Greiner Hall this Fall, exclusively for sophomores. This will open up lots of spots in Ellicot.

2007- My son decided late and ended up on South campus. But as everyone told us, he loved it there. Not much of a hassle with the buses. He and his friends he made there moved to Ellicot this (soph) year, for convenience.
